Discovering Words at Random
Do you enjoy flicking through your dictionaries and learning words and expressions you’ve never seen before? Antidote offers an easy, quick way to explore the treasures of the English language. Just click the upside-down top hat icon () in the toolbar, and the application will pull a word or expression from its proverbial hat at random so you can read more about it in the dictionaries.
- Click the drop-down menu next to the icon to limit the search to one of several categories. By default, Antidote draws a word from these categories at random.
- The category A very recent new entry represents words that were added with the update to Antidote’s most recent version, whereas A fairly recent new entry represents words that were added with the release of the current edition.
