Running Antidote
Once you have added the appropriate connector, you can run your text directly through Antidote Web from any compatible software application. Corrections made this way are automatically applied to the source text—no need to copy-paste!
Antidote integrates with a wide range of applications built around different technologies. How you run Antidote Web depends on which of the following three application types you are using.
-
Local software — Run Antidote directly from the application’s interface or using the Antidote Agent.
-
Web browsers — Use Live Correction to correct your writing directly in editable text fields on the web. You can also launch Antidote Web using Antidote’s menu in the browser.
-
Web apps — Launch Antidote Web from a web application, such as Microsoft 365 apps, using Antidote’s menu.
Tip — To learn more about how to use Antidote with a particular application, go to the Integrations section. There is detailed information on all compatible software applications.
Regardless of where you choose to write, you can always access each of Antidote’s three tools:
- Click the Corrector icon to launch the corrector and review your text in Antidote Web. Any corrections you make are automatically applied to the source text in the original application—no need to copy-paste!
- Click the Dictionaries icon to open the dictionaries (in most cases on the entry for the word closest to the cursor). If you see a chevron beside the icon, click it to display a menu from which you can consult a specific dictionary.
- Click the Guides icon to open the language guides. If you see a chevron beside the icon, click it to display a menu from which you can consult a specific guide.
